Monticello, Ia Main Street is a success-driven organization striving to enhance the historic downtown of Monticello, Iowa. We at Main Street envision a vibrant, exciting, enhanced centrally located downtown which combines second-story housing with charming eclectic shops to meet the demands of the shopping public. Included in the overall plan, will be various festivals, celebrations, and events that attract the far-reaching public and will enhance the popularity and economic growth of Monticello, Iowa. Monticello is the Place to Be!

Formally designated in 2022, Monticello’s Main Street journey is a comeback story, with the community rallying after falling short of the Main Street designation in 2019.

Leaders strengthened local partnerships and leveraged the Iowa Downtown Resource Center’s downtown assessment visit to refine their revitalization efforts, which include preserving architecture, supporting small businesses, and boosting the local economy and quality of life.

Supporters include young adults who are returning to Monticello to live, work and help ensure a strong future for their hometown.
